As we dive into the new year, our team at EarthShift Global is more excited than ever to participate — as organizers, sponsors, speakers, and attendees — in several sustainability-focused conferences around America and around the world in 2019.

We wanted to give you a heads-up, our dear partners and community, as we’d love to meet you at these events to talk face-to-face. If we won’t cross paths, please follow @EarthShiftGlbl to see the latest discussions taking place around these important research and innovation topics.

Chronologically, here are just a few of the places you’ll see the ESG team this year.

Circularity ‘19 (June 18-20) Minneapolis, Minnesota: This inaugural event created by GreenBiz seeks to gather circular economy thought leaders to share, discuss, and develop ideas around this growing practice. EarthShift Global’s Samuel Boduch will be attending Circularity in order to engage with fellow participants and further identify the ways Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Sustainable Return on Investment (S-ROI) can benefit organizations that are seeking to incorporate these sustainable business concepts into their practices and operations. Be sure to keep your eyes on #Circularity19.

ISSST (June 25-27) Portland, Oregon: The International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology is one of our annual favorites — one of the longest-running research conferences related to the intersection of technology, policy, and behavior, and a gathering place for engineers, scientists, professionals, and educators. EarthShift Global Founder and CEO, Lise Laurin, is one of three program Co-Chairs, along with Jeremiah Johnson of North Carolina State University and Daniel Posen of the University of Toronto! Last year’s presentations can be seen here. The call for contributions is open until February 13. Follow #ISSST2019 for updates on social media.

CILCA (Jul 15-20) Cartago, Costa Rica: The Conferencia Internacional Análisis de Ciclo de Vida (CILCA) is the international conference for life cycle assessment and life cycle analysis in Latin America that takes place every two years. We’ve attended in the past and we’re excited to return again! In 2019, EarthShift Global’s Senior Sustainability Analyst Valentina Prado is a part of the CILCA scientific committee and is supporting the abstract review process. She will be joined by onsite by Holly Harris from the Maine office. Our team plans to submit two platform presentations (one on S-ROI and the second one about LCA interpretation) and we’ll also host a workshop. “Sustainability is a global issue and as such is important for our team to have a global presence,” says Prado, who is based in Colombia. Follow along at #CILCA2019.

LCA XIX (Sep 24-26) Tucson, Arizona: The American Center for Life Cycle Assessment is a nonprofit organization focused on building capacity and knowledge of environmental LCA, whose members include individuals from industry, academia, government, consulting, and NGOs. The annual event is held in a new location every year, and this year will be in the warm desert of Tucson. “This conference has a balanced attendance of LCA industry practitioners and researchers. It is one of the most important meetings for sharing LCA latest advancements,” says Valentina Prado. In 2017, our fearless leader Lise Laurin received the ALCLA Rita Schenck Lifetime Individual LCA Leadership Award, and as part of her acceptance speech, she challenged the audience to find positive cascading non-linear solutions to help with some of the world's problems! Connect with Lise and Valentina at ACLCA this fall, and follow #LCAXIX on social media.
